1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Meetly ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Meetly is a voice recording and transcription application that provides:
- • On-device voice recording and transcription
- • Support for 90+ languages
- • Optional AI-powered summaries (when enabled)
- • Local data storage and processing
3. Privacy and Data Handling
Privacy-First Approach
Your audio recordings never leave your device. All processing is done locally using Apple's Speech Recognition framework. Only when you explicitly enable AI summaries will text transcriptions be sent to OpenAI's API.
4. User Responsibilities
✅ You agree to:
- • Use the App only for lawful purposes
- • Respect the privacy of others when recording
- • Comply with local recording laws and regulations
- • Not use the App for illegal surveillance
- • Keep your device secure and updated
❌ You agree not to:
- • Record without consent where required by law
- • Use the App for harassment or stalking
- • Attempt to reverse engineer the App
- • Share recordings that violate others' rights
5. AI Features and OpenAI
When you enable AI summaries, you acknowledge that:
- • Text transcriptions will be sent to OpenAI's API
- • OpenAI's terms of service also apply to this feature
- • You can use your own OpenAI API key for additional control
- • Data is automatically deleted within 30 days
- • Audio files are never uploaded to any service
6. Intellectual Property
The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Meetly and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of your recordings and transcriptions. You grant Meetly a limited license to process your data only as necessary to provide the service.
7. Disclaimers
- • No warranty: The App is provided "as is" without warranties
- • Accuracy: Transcription accuracy may vary and is not guaranteed
- • Availability: Service availability is not guaranteed
- • Third-party: We're not responsible for third-party services (OpenAI, Apple)
8. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Meetly be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the App.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via the App or email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
