How far we've
come together.
Meetly started in June 2025 as a tiny private recorder built for one person's own meetings. This is the whole road since — every release, the hard weeks, and the turns that mattered. Kept by the founder, kept honest.
Housekeeping.
No new features in this one, and I would rather say so than dress it up. It adds standard Apple Ads attribution so we can tell which ads actually bring people to Meetly. No tracking prompt, no third-party SDK data grab — just Apple’s own token. Shipped the same day as the Mac launch.

Meetly comes to the Mac.
The biggest day since the first release. Meetly is now one app with one purchase across iPhone, iPad, and Mac — a native menu-bar app that records what your Mac hears, transcribes it on the device, and types for you anywhere.
The rule that has held since day one holds here too: one explicit action starts every recording, no bot joins your calls, and nothing is uploaded to capture, transcribe, or label speakers.

- Records system audio and your microphone — Zoom, Teams, Meet, FaceTime, Webex, browser audio. No bot in the call, no video.
- Hold-one-key dictation: hold Fn (or a modifier you choose), speak, release — the text lands at your cursor in any app
- On-device transcription by default (Apple Speech on macOS 26, with fallbacks back to macOS 15)
- Dictation and local transcription are free. Your existing Pro subscription unlocks iCloud library sync, speaker identification, and AI Agent Access on the Mac too.
iCloud Safety Sync, and a phone that stays cool.
Sync has been our hardest problem all year, so we spent a week making it boring. The goal: nothing you recorded can ever be silently lost, and nothing you deleted can ever silently come back.
- iCloud Safety Sync: deleted meetings move to Recently Deleted and stay recoverable for 30 days — free for every signed-in user, Pro or not
- “Saving changes to iCloud…” no longer loops forever; recovered duplicates converge instead of multiplying
- Cloud summaries now stream in and finish in seconds instead of minutes, on a zero-data-retention route
- Cloud summaries work without a VPN in Hong Kong, Korea, and China
- Timers and audio metering moved off the render path — smoother scrolling, cooler phone
The week we held the build.
A release candidate had a sync defect that could, in rare conditions, resurrect meetings you had deleted. We blocked it, wrote three incident reports, and rebuilt deletion from the ground up — durable tombstones, restorable backups, provably safe delete — before anything shipped. The same week, cloud summaries moved onto a privacy-hardened route restricted to zero-data-retention providers.
One Meetly, everywhere.
Meetly became a single App Store app across platforms, and the first Mac package came together. Also in this one: the My Voice identity beta (so transcripts can label you as “You”), recording while other meetings are still processing, and AI-agent meeting sync became strictly opt-in.
A proper front door for AI agents.
The connector moved to mcp.getmeetly.ai with a clearer first-time setup, refreshed agent tools — mind maps, study notes, specs, quizzes, source-grounded answers — and a round of OAuth hardening. Your recordings, usable in ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor, on your terms.
Summaries with no cloud at all.
Experimental on-device AI summaries — Apple Intelligence where available, a downloadable model everywhere else — plus an honest progress bar and a Cancel button that actually cancels.
Stop never loses a recording.
One press of Stop and your meeting appears in about a second; compression happens in the background. Stuck “transcription in progress” meetings became always recoverable. PLUS was renamed Pro.
Eleven releases in four days.
The week Meetly grew up: a new transcription engine, first speaker labels, summary templates, in-app feedback with diagnostic logs, and the MCP beta hardened release by release.
Connect AI Agents.
The turn that defined Meetly. Your recordings stopped being files in an app and became context for the AI you already work with — private, speaker-labelled, and revocable at any time.
Meetly learns to pay rent.
A 7-day free trial on the yearly plan, a rewritten honest paywall with Restore Purchases, and the groundwork for keeping this thing alive as an independent app.
The relaunch.
Version and build numbers reset, and the App Store era began in earnest. Everything above this line happened in the eight months since.
The first commit.
A tiny recorder, built because I wanted my own meetings transcribed without handing them to anyone’s server: press record, the phone transcribes, nothing leaves it. Every release since has been that same promise with more reach.
